KICK is a registered non-profit organisation (085-698-NPO) formed in 2006 with a vision to impact the lives of children in South Africa. KICK works to equip, empower and educate children, families, practitioners and ECD centres so that young children can grow in safe, stimulating and hopeful environments.
KICK exists to provide practical hope and opportunity for young South African children. The organisation is donations-based and relies on corporate, foundation and private support to fund programmes that strengthen childhood, early childhood education, improve learning environments and respond to practical family needs with a strong belief that education and early intervention are key to long-term change.
Why the early years matter
Early childhood is the foundation for later learning, health, confidence and participation in society. in under-resourced communities, children often face multiple barriers before they reach Grade 1: limited stimulation, under-trained caregivers, unsafe facilities, food insecurity and limited access to quality early learning materials.
